Worthy Publishing is pleased to announce that Cop Under Fire: Moving Beyond Hashtags of Race, Crime & Politics for a Better America (February 2017) by Sheriff David Clarke reached #6 on the Publishers Weekly Hardcover Non-Fiction list for the week ending March 5, as well as #9 on the Wall Street Journal Hardcover Non-Fiction list. It reported rapid sales on BookScan for the week ending March 7, hitting #11 Overall Adult Non-Fiction and #59 out of all books.
“We are honored to partner with Sheriff Clarke to share his message and the insights he has learned after so many distinguished years in law enforcement,” said Byron Williamson, president and CEO of Worthy Publishing. “Hitting these bestseller lists demonstrates the need for his message, and we’re thrilled at this overwhelmingly positive response.”
A dynamic book launch began at CPAC 2017, where Sheriff Clarke was a featured speaker, followed by numerous national media interviews, as well as broad social media efforts and ads. Cop Under Fire received strong support from retailers, including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Costco, Books-a-Million, Walmart, and Sam’s Club. Sean Hannity provided an eloquent foreword for Cop Under Fire and powerful endorsements were contributed by Monica Crowley, Kris “Tanto” Paronto, David Horowitz, and others.
Written in Sheriff Clarke’s characteristically no-nonsense style, Cop Under Fire examines the ways in which America has become increasingly polarized. With growing animosity toward law enforcement professionals, government corruption, disregard for the constitution, and racial tension, there seems to be no easy answer in sight. Deeply rooted in Sheriff Clarke’s personal life story, Cop Under Fire is not a dry recitation of what is wrong in America. It’s about how we can rise above our current troubles to be a truly great people in pursuit of liberty and justice for all.
